THANK YOU FOR VISITING OUR SITE If you are sick and tired of what is happening in Zimbabwe, then you have come to the right place. This is a non-profit organisation with the objective of raising awareness and support for Zimbabwe and it's people. The site was founded in 2008 and thus it is still in the early stages of construction. We are working with the support of celebrities, aid workers and Zimbabweans all over the world. We urge as many people as posible to join this site, as we firmly believe that the more people that join the site and donate, the easier it will be to rebuild the country. We plan to work together with other organisations around the world to make a conjoined effort to ultimately make a difference in Zimbabwe for all. Please join and help us to help those who need it most. We have finally added a donations page to the site so please support the organisations who you feel need it most! Celebrities who personally endorse & side with SupportZimbabwe.com : | "My father was born in Bulawayo in the 1950's and I can see how much recent developments there have hurt him. I went to Binga on Lake Kariba for a holiday some years ago and was struck by the gentleness of the people and the magnificence of the land. I fear things must be very different now. My hope is that the good people in Zimbabwe will regain their strength and rebuild their land. We are waiting to help." - Gareth Cliff (South African radio DJ and IDOLS judge)
| | "Zimbabwe, a beautiful land with huge potential made hopeless, lies wasted by the hand of man. While many may right this country off of it's former glory, I have always been one to believe in what can be.
The heat of this country may be bruised, but is still beating. As long as people still have hope and faith in their hearts, there is always a chance for change and the rebuilding of this country. I urge all that care in mankind to help in whatever way they can, to assist and to be part of the resurrection of this land, Zimbabwe. Many hands make light work and many hearts make miracles happen. This is our generation - let us make a difference." - David Aldo, May 14, 2008 (American singer/songwriter)
| | "My hope and prayers lie in the chorus of a song written for Zimbabwe called, "Rise Again": "For one day they will rise again Above the emptiness and shame With dignity restored once more As your oppression is here no more"
- Henry Olonga, May 4, 2008 (UK Singer/songwriter and ex-Zimbabwean cricketer) | | "Anything that would save the possibilities of bloodshed, of conflict, I am quite willing to support. The people of Zimbabwe have suffered enough, and we don't... want any more possibilities of bloodshed. In a fraught situation such as we have had in Zimbabwe, anything that is helping towards a move, a transition, from the repression to the possibilities of democracy and freedom, oh, for goodness sake, please let us accept that." - Archbishop Desmond Tutu (South African Archbishop)
| | "Day by day newspapers, tv and media shows us how people are getting beaten and others who die. My heart goes out to all these people who stand strong in what they believe. I do believe if mandela was president of South Africa, Zimbabwe would have been free a long time ago." - DJ Jazzy D, May 4, 2008 (Great South African DJ)
| | "We have performed in Zimbabwe a few times: it is a beautiful country with wonderful, warm people. Our thoughts are with the people of Zimbabwe in these difficult times. With the plague of xenophobia now sweeping our own beautiful country, now more than ever we need to stand with all Zimbabweans in their right freely to determine their own future." - John and Claire (Mango Groove) (South African music group)
| | "Robert Mugabe is not above international laws of humanity, and he should not be allowed to think so. Raise your voice." - Marc Lottering (South African comedian)
| | "I was born in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe has always been and is still such a beautiful country. I was there in September with my wife and I was amazed at the spirit of the people even with everything that is going on at the moment." "I'm really sorry about what is going in Zimbabwe at the moment. I believe that it is about time that our government got involved and said something about it." - Barry Hilton (South African comedian) |
