Henry Olonga is an ex-Zimbabwean cricketer who was arrested on charges of treason and forced to leave the national team along with along with team mate Andy Flower in 2003 for wearing a black armband in a Cricket World Cup match to protest against the policies of Zimbabwe's government. Both the cricketers released a statement on 10 February, stating in part, "In all the circumstances, we have decided that we will each wear a black armband for the duration of the World Cup.

In doing so we are mourning the death of democracy in our beloved Zimbabwe. In doing so we are making a silent plea to those responsible to stop the abuse of human rights in Zimbabwe. In doing so, we pray that our small action may help to restore sanity and dignity to our nation." 

Henry is also the singer and song-writer of the famous heart-felt song, "Our Zimbabwe" and has just recently released a new album, "Aurelia" with the inspirational song, "Rise Again". 'Rise Again' is a song that should speak to every Zimbabwean throughout the world and appeal to them, as well as others who have seen or heard of the destruction and brutality that the Zimbabwean 'government' is taking against its own people.

Henry is a role model to many people world-wide and his strength is applauded through this hard time; as is the strength of the many Zimbo's abroad. Henry Olonga is now living in England with his wife, and is currently in the music industry.
